Easter River Cooter

These turtles are found in central and eastern United States, including the Mississippi River! They are omnivores and eat a variety of foods including plants, crayfish, and more.

At the River Museum, the Eastern River Cooters can be seen swimming, basking, or even grazing on algae that grows on some of the rocks in the BackWater Marsh aquarium.
