Pioneer Days

Pioneer Days in the schoolhouse

Experience life as a pioneer at the Mathias Ham Historic Site! Step back in time while exploring an authentic one-room schoolhouse, an 1833 settler’s log cabin, a lead miner’s Badger Hut, and the historic Mathias Ham House.

Enjoy discounted General admission on the second Thursday of October, November, December, January, and February for Homeschool Days! Each date features drop-in activities focused on a different theme. No advance registration needed.

Early Explorers

Early Explorers is open to children ages 2-5 along with a parent or caregiver. Sessions are held monthly year-round. Programs include a variety of hands-on and active activities, including a craft and a game. Advanced registration is encouraged as space is limited. Those registering for a full year of programming will save!

Overnight Adventures

Adventure awaits after dark! Discover an unforgettable after-hours experience for Scout Troops, Youth Groups, homeschool cohorts, and more. Sleep among the exhibits, experience a 4D movie, participate in 2-3 educational programs (45 minutes each), and even work toward merit badges. Daily admission included in overnight package. Meals are not provided.  

  • Arrival Time: 5:30 PM  
  • Departure Time: 8:00 AM  
  • Minimum Fee: $1,500 (Includes up to 20 participants)
  • Additional Participants: $75 per person
  • Max Capacity: 60 participants
